A month dedicated to Dante: Dantesque September
September is the month when Ravenna displays the Dantesque side of its identity by means of various events of cultural entertainment, among them Dante 09 with meetings dedicated to the importance of having a maestro in our lives, the Dantesque September programme that reflects on the theme of time that flies, the international readings of The Divine Comedy in the World, and the ceremonies that commemorate the death of the Master Poet.
Darsena and various venues in the city. International Circuit of Cities that dance: dance spectaculars exploring urban spaces in the city. The "extreme raids" of the contemporary dance company are presented in symbolic and crowded places where people walk, work and wait such as the opening bridge at the port, in front of the schools, on the buses, at the city's Museum of Art and in the San Nicoḷ complex.
From the month of September the autumn music shows resume in various prestigious venues in the old town centre. The programmes always present a rich cross-section of European musical life, and see the participation of the best exponents of "ancient music" performing with original instruments in the Concerts of the Academy and the charm of organ music in the concerts of the Ravenna Chamber Orchestra.
